THE ONLY CHAIR YOU’LL EVER NEED : CRAZY CREEK

DrewFarwell GEAR, REVIEWS

WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS CHAIR THAT ALREADY HASN’T BEEN SAID ABOUT CHUCK NORRIS.

My first introduction with Crazy Creek and its chairs was during my NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) course in 2006. We had a prep list of gear we needed before setting off to Baja, Mexico but naturally, there was some stuff we just didn’t know we needed until we were down there.

For those not familiar with NOLS, it’s not the kind of program or organization that takes misfit youth into the woods and scares society into them, not to say some of us weren’t troubled, but NOLS is all business. OUTDOOR BUSINESS. We spent 3 months trekking, sailing and kayaking throughout the Baja wilderness and the Sea of Cortez. It involved everything from sitting through “Leave No Trace” courses in the middle of the woods, wilderness first aid to orienteering and spearfishing.

It was epic, it changed my life and there was lots of sitting around.

This was the chair that go me through those 3 months.

I picked this chair up after our first debriefing and recommendations from instructors (they don’t like being called that).

It folds up and slides into your pack smoothly with a low profile and taking up little room. It then folds out when you get to camp and saves your back from too much “indian style” sitting, readjusting and general “sans chair” styles of sitting. You’re crazy if you don’t have a crazy creek for adventures like this.

The chair also unclips and doubles as a sleeping pad in a pinch and by pinch I mean i used it almost the entire time instead of adding the extra gear.

I’ve had my same chair, and picked up another one since I left Baja 10 years ago. The chairs have held up till just the other day when i finally busted a buckle on one of them the other week. That’s the buckle, the fabric and structure has still held and I would challenge you to find a chair that lasts as long as this one and is a versatile.

Crazy creek for life brah.
